Duathlon or triathlon. Long course, Olympic, sprint. Many multisport athletes find a particular discipline or
distance and stick with it. Others may enjoy the variety of taking on the different facets of the sport, but it’s the rare athlete who can find success in more than one.
That must make Craig Greenslit as rare as they come. The 37-year-old Minnesota native and current resident of Berthoud, Colo., accomplished an unprecedented feat in 2007, capturing age group titles at four USA Triathlon National Championships: short course duathlon, short course triathlon, sprint triathlon, and long course triathlon. Even more remarkable is that he also won the overall titles – besting all competitors – at both duathlon and sprint triathlon, finished fourth at long course triathlon, and ninth at short course triathlon. Oh, and he also has an Iron distance win in his career: the 2002 5430 in Boulder, Colo.
